A student was arrested for putting a social media post against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee over the rape and murder of a postgraduate trainee doctor at RG Kar Medical College and Hospital.
Trinamool Congress MP Sagarika Ghose shared the Instagram post and claimed that it read like a death threat to the Chief Minister. The post was done through an Instagram named Kirti Social.

NDTV reported that the accused Kirti Sharma is a second-year BCom student. Her post read, “Shoot Mamata Banerjee like Indira Gandhi. If you can’t do it, I wouldn’t disappoint.”
Meanwhile healthcare services remained affected at government hospitals the state as junior doctors continued their protest for the 11th day. “This protest is for seeking justice for a female doctor who faced brutality while treating patients for 36 hours at a stretch. It is the 11th day that her body was discovered, but where is the justice? We will continue this stir until we get justice for our sister,” said an agitating doctor at the RG Kar MCH.
