London-based consumer tech brand Nothing is making a bold departure from its signature design language with the upcoming Phone (3).
In a teaser shared on X (formerly Twitter), the company made “Glyph Matrix” official that will be replacing the iconic Glyph Interface, marking the most significant visual overhaul in the brand’s smartphone lineup to date.

The video shows a dot-matrix-style LED display positioned near the top left corner of the phone’s transparent rear panel. Accompanied by the tagline “When light becomes language,” the preview suggests a shift toward a more dynamic and expressive form of interaction.
While the Glyph Interface used segmented LED strips to signal notifications, charging status, and call alerts, the Glyph Matrix appears to be a grid-based setup. Nothing first hinted at the move in early June, with the Headphone (1) launch announcement.
At first glace, the Glyph Matrix looks very similar to ASUS ROG Phone’s AniMe Vision display, which shows images, animations, etc. for notification and customisation purposes.
The new interface will debut alongside the Nothing Phone (3) at the company’s upcoming “Come to Play” launch event on July 1 at 10.30 pm IST.
Nothing Phone (3) expected specifications
Under the hood, the Phone (3) will be powered by Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 chipset. According to the company, users can expect a performance leap with up to 88% improvement in GPU output, a 33% jump in CPU capabilities, and a 125% increase in AI-related tasks, compared to the previous generation.
The device will also support five years of OS updates and seven years of security patches—the longest software commitment for any Nothing product so far.
Other expected specifications include a 6.77-inch LTPO AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and 3000 nits of peak brightness. The phone will likely offer 12GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, a triple rear camera setup with a 50MP main sensor, a 32MP front camera, and a 5,000mAh battery with 50W wired and 20W wireless charging.
