US Stock Market Live: US markets have opened lower on Wall Street after a historic run on Wednesday that brought all the benchmark indices out of bear market territory. The Dow Jones has opened 700 points lower after the 3,000-point upmove on Wednesday. The S&P 500 has opened with losses of 120 points, while the Nasdaq has shed 3% or 500 points in opening trade after its best single-day upmove since 2001.

The S&P 500 has opened with losses of 120 points, while the Nasdaq has shed 3% or 500 points in opening trade after its best single-day upmove since 2001. US stocks had a one-way move on Wednesday after US President Donald Trump paused the imposition of reciprocal tariffs for 90-days on countries that did not retaliate to the earlier imposition. Although officials did admit that the bond market moves did accelerate the reversal of the earlier decision. Yet, many fund managers are urging caution and advising not to buy the dip, due to volatility. Retail inflation eased in March but that may not do much for the Fed to cut rates in May.
