United States of America (USA) have sealed a direct qualification to the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2026 that will be co-hosted by India and Sri Lanka, by virtue of making it to the Super 8 of the current edition of the tournament.
USA had their group-stage fixture against Ireland in Florida getting called off due to incessant rains. After four matches, they accumulated five points with their sole loss being that against India earlier this week.

The 2026 T20 World Cup will see participation from 20 teams, which is the same as the present campaign. It will be the 10th edition of the competition.

Two sides, i.e. India and Sri Lanka have already entered the same as they have made it to the as they are the co-hosts. The countries qualifying for the Super of T20 World Cup 2024 will also enter the next season directly, whereas the rest of the spots will be taken by the next top-three ranked ICC T20I teams as of June 30, 2024.

The remaining eight spots will be taken from the victors of the various regional qualifiers that the ICC will conduct in the build up to the tournament two years from now. In fact, the first of those qualifying competitions is already underway in Italy, i.e. the European Sub-Regional Qualifiers.
Meanwhile, six teams, i.e. India, Australia, South Africa, Afghanistan, West Indies, and now the USA have entered the next round of the T20 World Cup.
