Former President Donald Trump is set to speak at the Bitcoin [BTC] Conference 2024 in Nashville, Tennessee, alongside other political figures.

Previously known for his anti-crypto stance, Trump is now looking to rebrand himself as a “crypto president” in the run-up to Election Day.

Why is Donald Trump making headlines?

The three-day Bitcoin Conference 2024 event promises an impressive lineup of speakers.

The roster includes independent presidential candidate Robert F. Kennedy Jr., political commentator and comedian Russell Brand, and former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy.

The diverse array of speakers highlights the event’s broad appeal and the significance of the ever-evolving discourse surrounding cryptocurrency.

Despite the presence of various notable speakers, Trump’s presence is garnering the most attention already, as he is set to deliver a 30-minute keynote address on the conference’s final day.

His speech is expected to be a strategic move to court voters and leverage the support he has already received from influential cryptocurrency figures like the Winklevoss twins.

Additionally, there are rumors saying that he could announce plans to declare Bitcoin as a U.S. strategic reserve.

Remarking on the same, an X (formerly Twitter) account with the username Coin_Games noted, 

“The most web3 friendly president in the US history.” 

Impact on of the Bitcoin Conference on the industry

This development also had a noticeable impact on the Trump-inspired memecoin Doland Tremp [TREMP], which surged over 8% in the past 24 hours, according to CoinGecko.

Simultaneously, Bitcoin saw a rise of around 5%, trading at approximately $67K at the time of writing as per CoinMarketCap.

On the prediction market platform Polymarket, Trump has consistently led the charts with about 60% of the votes.

However, Vice President Kamala Harris’s odds have recently increased to 38%, suggesting potential shifts in the political landscape.
