Per Billboard, since the tragic incident, which left two people dead including the shooter, and two others besides Trump injured, “Many Men” earned over 2.2 million U.S. on-demand audio streams from July 13-15 — up 250% from the previous Saturday-to-Monday period.
“Many men wish death upon me/ Blood in my eye, dog, and I can’t see/ I’m tryin’ to be what I’m destined to be/ And ni**as tryin’ to take my life away,” rhymes the New York rapper in the fan-favorite track, inspired by a real-life attempt to take 50 Cent’s life.
“It happens so fast that you don’t even get a chance to shoot back,” detailed the G Unit boss of the experience to MTV News, according to ABC News.
“You can’t move. Your first reaction is to move and then the shots is going off and you jumping around the backseat. I was scared the whole time. Ain’t nobody going to tell you they ain’t scared in that situation. It’s a hit, man. You supposed to die in that situation. They’re not playing.”
Since the attempt, Donald Trump has been using a large, white bandage to cover his ear. A report from CNN details US Rep. Ronny Jackson, Trump’s former White House physician, explained he “checked out” the wound to Trump’s ear and provided the bandages, adding, “there was no concussive effect from the bullet.”
“It just took the top of his ear off, a little bit of the top of his ear off, as it passed through,” Jackson explained. “It was bleeding like crazy.”
