Andrea Lewis Shares Which ‘Degrassi’ Co-Stars She’s Still Cool With Over 15 Years Later

It’s been more than 15 years since Andrea Lewis last appeared on TV as Hazel Aden. While she’s moved on professionally, she told PEOPLE she maintains a bond with a few of her ‘Degrassi’ co-stars. Yes, Aubrey—as she knows him best—is on that list.

Andrea Lewis Still Keeps A ‘Degrassi’ Bestie!

Andrea was cast on ‘Degrassi: The Next Generation’ from 2002 to 2006. Her time overlapped with actress Christina Schmidt. She portrayed Terri MacGregor in the Canadian teen drama from 2001 to 2004. They’re still besties, Andrea confirmed.

“[Christina and I] go on vacation together, we’re like best friends, and then she happens to still be very close with Sarah. So it’s very easy for all of us to be like, ‘Let’s go to dinner. Let’s go do something,’” she said.

On March 13, Christina shared photos of a lil’ artsy outing with Andrea, captioning it “got a little brainwashed with @andrealewis.” A few days later, Andrea shared pictures from that same “bestie day” with a sweet caption about finding creative inspiration with her “longtime boo,” Christina.

“Lately I’ve been feeling a little stuck with my creative goals, but I recently had a Bestie day with my longtime boo @christina.m.schmidtt where we explored @mrbrainwashartmuseum in Beverly Hills and it was just the inspiration I needed! The ideas were BIG, the art was explosive and the storytelling was limitless.”

Speaking to PEOPLE, Andrea also shared that she and Sarah Barrable-Tishauer “still talk regularly.” Sarah played Liberty on the show.

“And that’s why I’m like, ‘It’s just high school.’ Do you follow people from your high school? Do you get to see people from your high school on Facebook or on TikTok or Twitter, whatever? It’s kind of that exact same experience.”

Andrea Says Drake Is Still Aubrey To Her

As mentioned, Andrea confirmed she’s also still in contact with Drake despite his superstardom. On ‘Degrassi,’ they were “very close,” she said. Like other co-stars, he was busy at the time, taking on jobs and roles outside of the teen series.

“I always knew that Drake was the more, I guess, suave name that we could say versus ‘Aubrey’,” Andrea Lewis said. “I actually love the name Aubrey on him. I think it suits him, but at the same time I knew Drake was his artist life that he wanted.”

Speaking of Drizzy, the bwoyyy went viral for his latest Caribbean “accent” on a song called ‘Wah Gwan Delilah.’ It samples Plain White T’s hit song, ‘Hey There Delilah.’ In the track, Drake leaned heavily into Jamaican and Toronto lingo, just weeks after Kendrick Lamar went in on his diss tracks about his accents.
