Hollywood is mourning a devastating loss in the beauty community.

Hairstylist Graham Nation, who worked with stars like Demi Moore, Maddie Zegler and Serena Williams, died at a gym in Los Angeles on Feb. 14, the L.A. County Department of Medical Examiner confirmed to People. He was 39.

Just days before Graham’s sudden death, he was celebrating a huge milestone in his career.

“My first ever Super Bowl commercial,” he wrote alongside a Feb. 10 Instagram video featuring the look he styled on Catherine O’Hara’s hair. “What an absolute blast to work on, Thank you Cathrine O’Hara for having me apart of this epic commercial.”

But while Graham—who shares 6-month-old son Romeo with partner Tonya Brewer—was clearly a great talent, it was the impact he left on everyone he met that could not go unnoticed. And some of the people that had the pleasure of working with him took to social media to express their disbelief at the tragic news and honor his memory.

“I can not stop thinking about and missing @grahamnation,” Erin Foster wrote in a Feb. 19 post on her Instagram Stories. “He left behind a 6 month old baby. We shared diapers and sleep training tips.”

“I can’t stop thinking about his partner Tonya and what she must be going through,” the Nobody Wants Thiscreator continued, “losing her partner and now raising their son alone.”

Others paid tribute to Graham in the comments of his most recent Instagram post, featuring a look he did on Wicked actress Marissa Bode. And among the most heartbreaking comments was one left by fellow hairstylist Divinity Ray.

“10 years of knowing you, from cutting hair in our hometown to witnessing you take LA by storm,” Divinity wrote below the Feb. 14 Instagram post. “You were never too busy to be thoughtful. You were never too big to smile at everyone. You were the most incomprehensible artist. Enough talent to have the biggest ego but instead so humble and sweet.”

“I always described you as an angel on earth,” she continued. “I just never thought you would leave this soon. Rest in Power, brother. The world lost one of its brightest lights.”

And The Wall Group, Graham’s talent agency, made sure to honor the legacy he left on their community as well.

“Graham was a one-of-a-kind soul who impacted every single person he met,” the agency shared in a Feb. 18 statement to Behind the Chair. “We are honored to have been part of his journey and to have helped him share his artistry with the world. Our hearts are broken and we will miss him dearly.”
