Chris Evans and Alba Baptista tied the knot in September 2023, less than a year after their relationship went public in November 2022. Don’t worry, they had already been quietly dating for “over a year” before the press and fans even knew the 42-year-old Marvel star was off the market. Apparently, people in Hollywood actually can keep a secret.
“I got married,” Evans told a crowd at New York Comic Con in October 2023, per Page Six. “It was really, really great.” And while the pair have yet to share wedding photos from their either of their two wedding ceremonies, they finally made their red carpet debut six months later.

March 10, 2024: The pair finally make their red-carpet debut at the annual Vanity Fair Oscar Party, which also marked their first public appearance as a couple.

December 22, 2023: Evans and Baptista hold hands in their first photo together since their secret wedding ceremonies. In photos shared by People, the newlyweds can be seen arriving at a New York City holiday party hosted by Colin Jost and Scarlett Johansson.
In the pics, which you can see here, Baptista smiles in a slinky red midi-dress, a black wool coat, and an oversized white scarf, while Evans looks festive in burgundy pants, a green sweater, and a camel-toned coat of his own.
October 14, 2023: During an appearance at New York Comic Con, Evans reveals the pair actually had two wedding ceremonies. “We kind of had two ceremonies. We had one on the East Coast, we did one in Portugal—my wife’s Portuguese,” he said, per Page Six. “But they were just…wonderful and beautiful. It’s a lot planning a wedding—for those of you who are married, you know, it takes a lot out of you.”
He continued, “But now that we’re through that, we’ve just kind of been enjoying life, gearing up for autumn—my favorite season. It’s, like, the best time of year right now. Now we’re just relaxing and enjoying life and reflecting.”

September 19, 2023: Evans reveals he and Baptista lived together after just a few months of dating. Though GQ published the cover story on September 19, the interview was actually conducted months before the couple’s Cape Cod wedding, which is why he referred to Baptista as his girlfriend.
Speaking of his packed film schedule in 2022, he says, “My girlfriend that I’ve had for a while, when we began dating, I was like: ‘Yeah, I do one movie a year. I try to never work now.’ And then, after like a few months of dating, boom, guess what? We’re living in Atlanta for a year. Get ready. And even when that year was happening, I was like, ‘Man, never again.’”
As for 2023: “I haven’t worked all year and I don’t plan to, which has been lovely.”
September 9, 2023: Alba and Evans tie the knot in Cape Cod. According to a Page Six report, attendees were asked to sign NDAs, and phones were “forfeited” prior to the ceremony. The guest list allegedly featured several of Evans’s costars from the Marvel universe, including Robert Downey Jr. and wife Susan Downey, Chris Hemsworth and wife Elsa Pataky, and Jeremy Renner.
February 14, 2023: Evans celebrates Valentine’s Day by posting a bunch of romantic photos of Baptista on his Instagram Story.
January 6, 2023: Evans and Baptista go Instagram-official with a hilarious series of prank videos taken over the course of their relationship in 2022.
November 10, 2022: People reports that Chris Evans and Alba Baptista have been dating for “over a year.” That same day they’re seen holding hands during a walk in Central Park.
“It’s serious,” a source says. “They are in love and Chris has never been happier. His family and friends all adore her.”
November 9, 2022: Evans leaves a melting face emoji in the comments of one of Baptista’s Instagram posts.
November 8, 2022: Chris Evans opens up about settling down in People’s Sexiest Man Alive feature. “That’s absolutely something I want. Wife, kids, building a family,” he said. “I love the idea of tradition and ceremony. I had a lot of that in my life so the idea of creating that, I can’t think of anything better.”
