Electronic Carnival & Beer Fest Night Market Opens for the Summer

The National Agricultural Exhibition Center is hosting a night market that is convenient to get to, free to enter, and has a bit more spunk than the other street markets in Beijing.

The ‘Electronic Carnival & Beer Fest Night Market’ will run every day from 5-11.30pm until August 17.

Note: We took the photos in this article on a Tuesday night – so try to imagine a bit more lively event in your mind.

There are tons of food stalls with everything from gelato to stinky tofu and games with fairly decent prizes; they are also not impossible to win – we managed to get large Pikachu plushy during our visit.

A rather impressive stage sits at the northern edge of the night market that features an eclectic selection of performances on the weekend.

During the weekdays the large sound system plays an interesting mix of top 40 hits spanning the last couple decades, with everything from Eminem to Bruno Mars making the cut.

Tons of tables fill the center of the market, so you won’t have to worry about standing around as you try to eat your treats and drink with friends.

Although the main libations available are beers – you can get a 1.5L pouch of Tsingtao for RMB48 – there is also a cocktail bar with drinks ranging from RMB35 to RMB48.

When the market and the National Agricultural Exhibition Center light up at night, the spacious area gets a festive atmosphere that is great for chilling with friends – even if you aren’t interested in the games or music and bring in your own food and drinks…

Daily until August 17, 5-11.30pm
