Sapphire can be found in the Frostlands. Unlike Malachite which spawns in the open, you’ll need to enter a cave in order to find this rare material. Look out for blue-purplish rocks that spawn together in the cave’s walls as that’s where you can mine this gem.
Also, make sure to bring a blue rarity pickaxe with you, as the common pickaxe won’t be able to deal damage to this rock. Crafting this shouldn’t be a problem as long as you’re constantly upgrading your village to unlock more weapon recipes.

Other than that, since the Frostlands is extremely cold, you should equip yourself with an Inner Fire Charm to neutralize the heat. Eating Spicy Pepper also helps keep your character warm during exploration in this area.
