How to mod weapons in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1
In Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1, you can now use mods on your weapons, to make them more efficient. But where do you get these mods and how do you use them on your weapons?
In Fortnite, you will come across different weapons of different rarities. While these weapons are efficient by default, you can increase their efficiency by modding them.
Interestingly enough, you don’t need to seek out these mods. They’re available by default. However, you can’t use mods out of thin air. There are specific areas where you can reconfigure the weapons that you use.
This guide will tell you how to mod weapons in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1.
Where to mod weapons in Fortnite
Before you can start modifying your weapons in the game, you need to keep in mind two basic things. First of all, you cannot mod each and every weapon that you come across in the game.
Alternatively, you need to meet some conditions before you can start modifying your guns. First of all, you will have to locate one of the five bosses on the island and then defeat them. Once you’ve defeated them, you will be able to pick up their medallion.
With their medallion in hand, you will now be able to access the vault where you will find a mod bench. At this bench, you will be able to upgrade your weapons in Fortnite Chapter 5 Season 1.

All mod bench locations in Fortnite
These are the approximate locations of all the mod benches.
Apart from the boss lairs there are several areas on the map where you will come across these mod benches. The map above will show you the approximate location of each and every bench in the game in Chapter 5 Season 1.
To mod your weapons in Fortnite you need to approach one of these benches and then interact with it. Depending upon the weapon that you have, you will be able to swap out mods. Always remember that the mods you use will directly affect the efficiency of the weapon.
For example, it’s no use equipping a magnifying scope on a shotgun, because it doesn’t work at long range. You also need to ensure that you have enough Gold Bars with you. For every mod that you use on your weapon, you need to spend 75 Gold Bars.
