Joe Budden Charged With Disorderly Lewdness After Bizarre Naked Incident

Joe Budden has found himself charged with “disorderly lewdness” after allegedly appearing naked on a neighbor’s ring doorbell in Edgewater, New Jersey.

According to reports, the charges stem from Dec. 4 after a complaint was made. Court records indicate Budden is scheduled to appear in court on Jan. 16 “for disorderly lewdness, a charge related to sexual misconduct or indecency in public.”

In a press release, Edgewater Police detailed the events leading to the arrest. Officers responded to a call from a resident who claimed Budden was “standing outside of their apartment door completely naked.”

The caller was reportedly alerted by their doorbell camera, which captured Budden allegedly attempting to enter a code into the neighbor’s keypad before returning to his own apartment across the hall. Edgewater Police Chief Martin has stated that “these charges are merely accusations, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Budden recently opened up about his temporary absence from The Joe Budden Podcast and the aforementioned bizarre incident. “I just sleptwalked somewhere I shouldn’t have,” the NJ rapper admitted to his co-hosts. “You know how I sleep—butt-naked. Good, old-fashioned naked sleepwalking. I just did it again.”

He added, “Nobody else could go through this stuff but me. It’s always me. So, you just gotta deal with what comes with that. You would’ve never guessed it.”

On December 10, Budden addressed the situation on Twitter, asking fans for privacy.

“No need for think pieces, guys. I’m dealing with a personal family matter, pls allow me to do so personally,” he wrote. “Super grateful to each member of the crew for holding it down in my absence, thank you.”

Since then, Budden has returned to his podcast, which is now filming at a different location.
