Lenny Kravitz‘s legacy and impact will receive its proper due soon. The 59-year-old artist will be honored with the Music Icon Award at the upcoming People’s Choice Awards.
The “It Ain’t Over ‘Til It’s Over” singer will receive some hardware and take the stage at the show. The 2024 People’s Choice Awards occur on Sunday, Feb. 18 at 8 p.m. ET live from Barker Hangar in Santa Monica, Calif. Viewers can stream the show via Peacock, NBC, or E!. Actor Simu Liu will host the show, Den of Thieves is handling the production, and Jesse Ignjatovic, Evan Prager, and Barb Bialkowski are all responsible for executive production.
“Lenny’s musical gift is truly unmatched,” Jen Neal, executive vice president of live events and specials at NBC Entertainment, said in a statement. “We’re thrilled to honor him as this year’s Music Icon and look forward to seeing what he brings to the stage.”
Lenny Kravitz will carry this momentum, plus the momentum from his historic 2023, further into 2024 as he is set to release his upcoming album Blue Electric Light on May 24. This comes after he was named a Hollywood Walk Of Fame inductee in 2023.
Kravitz recently received a Golden Globe nomination for Best Original Song – Motion Picture for “Road To Freedom,” a track he wrote, produced, and performed in support of the Netflix film Rustin. The record was also nominated for a Critics Choice Award for Best Song. He was not able to replicate that success this past week as the record was passed over for an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song.
Most recently, he shared his single “TK421” back in October 2023 and appeared on Peggy Gou’s “I Believe In Love” the following month. Listen to “TK421” below.
