Lindsay Lohan Did Not Like That ‘Fire Crotch’ Joke in the Mean Girls Movie Musical

The original Cady Heron herself, Lindsay Lohan, is not here for a pretty mean girl-coded line of dialogue in the new movie musical rendition her 2004 film, Mean Girls.

People reports that in the remake, Megan Thee Stallion reacts to Cady’s (Angourie Rice) talent show look with the line, “Y2K fire crotch is back”—seemingly a reference to a 2006 paparazzi video in which Brandon Davis calls Lohan a “fire crotch.

In a statement to People, Lohan’s rep said that “Lindsay was very hurt and disappointed by the reference in the film.” Neither Tina Fey, who wrote the original film as well as the musical, nor Paramount Pictures have responded.

Lohan herself has poked fun at her party girl era, though one can imagine that given her horrific treatment at the hands of the tabloid press, it stings a bit to have an explicit “joke” played for laughs at her expense.

Back in 2010, when Lohan was serving time for failing to attend court-ordered weekly alcohol education classes, some news outlets reported that she was mocked by her fellow inmates, who shouted the nickname “fire crotch” at her and chanted it when she was nearby. So, yeah, I would be “disappointed and hurt” to have that name rubbed in my face too!

Lindsay Lohan attended the film’s premiere last week and seemed chummy with Fey and the rest of the film’s producers, so it’s unclear if, at the time, the 37-year-old was unaware of the joke, or if she’d simply decided to let it go. My bet would be on the latter, given that she’s been living her best life with her new husband, new baby, and revamped career. When you’re winning at life, who has time for a grudge?
