Megan Thee Stallion Honored At 2024 Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players Event

Thursday night (Sept. 5), in New York City, Hip-Hop and R&B hitmakers, as well as the people who empower their talent, gathered to celebrate industry accomplishments at the 2024 Billboard R&B/Hip-Hop Power Players celebration. Honoring those who top the charts and the managers, marketers, and more behind the scenes, the celebration invited a spirit of collaboration and community to the Paradise Club in the Times Square Edition Hotel.

Honorees of the night include Megan Thee Stallion and Playboi Carti who were both recognized with Artist Of The Year Awards. Additionally, Teezo Touchdown was honored as Rookie Of The Year, Rachelle Jean-Louis as Executive Of The Year, and Joey Bada$$ with the Tres Generaciones Tequila Impact Award.

“This has truly been a special year from selling out my first ever headlining tour, I’m really proud and really grateful for everybody that supported me. It’s really exciting to watch the work pay off. It’s also rewarding because I stayed true to myself and my happiness,” exclaimed Megan Thee Stallion from the podium.

The night also brought career-first awards to Playboi Carti and Joey Bada$$, both acknowledging the accomplishment on stage.

“A wise man once said, never strive for recognition, just strive to be worthy of it and I live by that,” revealed the Brooklyn rapper as his favorite quote.
