Moisés Nieto Spain Fall 2024

Ivy League style—as adopted in Japan—was at the core of Moisés Nieto’s fall 2024 show. The Spanish designer described his lineup as “a truthful collection without artifice.” Thus, sober pieces were the stars of an offering that updated this imported look which was popular among the Japanese youth in the ’60s and ’70s, while also paying tribute to the pioneer designer Kensuke Ishizu, who is widely credited as bringing the style to Japan. “The idea is creating fashion for everyday living,” explained Nieto. “[It’s about] quality garments that can be worn on any occasion.” This was evident in the lineup of coats and blazers, worn with pleated pants in foolproof day-to-day looks.

The entire collection was made from deadstock materials from the Spanish recycling platform Recovo. “Our principles and perseverance in support of sustainable fashion led us to think about reusing surplus fabrics,” added the designer. “Our goal was to create a simple, concise, and utilitarian collection.”
