Moisés Nieto Spain Spring 2025
For spring 2025, Moisés Nieto drew inspiration from Giorgio Morondi, one of Italy’s most celebrated 20th century artists, who created a universe of his own, shaped from everyday objects and soft, muted colors, detached from the outside world and the usual artist references. “Morandi consistently explored the same forms, refining them with each iteration,” the Jaén-born designer explained. “I approach my collections almost the same way; I’m not creating something new every season. Instead, I enhance the pieces to elevate the intrinsic value of the design itself.”
To translate Morandi’s paintings into fashion, Nieto envisioned a collection of relaxed silhouettes, featuring straight lines that gently contoured the body. The majority of the looks were constructed by layering simple shirts under bottle-shaped tops. “It’s essentially a re-edition of our most successful pieces, like column dresses and slip dresses,” he added. The standout piece was a transitional trench coat, rendered in a slightly crumpled Italian technical fabric with a remarkable lightness not unlike that of cotton poplin. A brighter color palette that ranged from beige to yellow, had a specific purpose. “We aim to appeal to a broader, younger audience,” the designer revealed. The bags, versatile designs in vibrant hues made from cotton or leather, provided a bold touch.
