Ryan Gosling Auditioned for Gilmore Girls?!—& More Show Secrets
Gilmore Girls’ Lauren Graham Reunites With Kelly Bishop—And It’s Not Even Friday Night
Break out the coffee because we have a lot to discuss.
Because, believe it or not, it’s been more than twenty years since we visited Stars Hollow for the first time. Oy with the poodles, yes, Gilmore Girls premiered in October 2000, introducing us to TV’s most iconic mother-daughter duo in Lorelai and Rory Gilmore (Lauren Graham and Alexis Bledel, respectively) and one of the most beloved fictional small towns.
Seven seasons, four final words, one Netflix revival and endless junk food consumed by the Gilmore women later, the Amy Sherman-Palladino-created series is more popular than ever.
And while we’ve had plenty of time to dissect Rory’s three major love interests (one of which maybe could have been Ryan Gosling or Chris Pine), we’d rather focus on Lorelai and Luke (Scott Patterson).
After all, “they’re definitely still together,” the actress told E! in an exclusive interview alongside her onscreen husband. “I don’t know what sort of grandchildren situation there might be, but I think we’re living happily in town.” (The situation would, of course, be referring to Rory’s bombshell news at the end of the Netflix revival.)
Alas, that’s the only peek they’ll give into Luke and Lorelai today.
Because, well, “it’s not up to us,” she explained, noting their characters remain in the hands of Sherman-Palladino. “And also, because whatever fans think has happened, I don’t want to disavow them of that.”
Plus, ideating “gets us in trouble,” she joked, to which Patterson added, “Anything you say is going to go viral.”
