2. Sakamoto Days Episode 7 Recap
Episode 7 of Sakamoto Days started with Sakamoto and his wife going to their daughter Hana’s school for an event, for this, they left the store to be looked after by Lu and Shin. Meanwhile, Lu and Shin were quarreling over a trifling matter. Their argument ended when Lu told Shin that it made her uncomfortable when he constantly read her mind, at which point he stormed out of the shop, clearly upset. She did feel bad about upsetting him. However, she didn’t get enough time to regret it as she was kidnapped by many masked people who mistook her for Shin.
Lu realized that Shin was getting targeted by an organization called “The Lab” that mistook her for Shin only because she borrowed Shin’s apron. On realizing that his ability may have been more of a liability for him than a boon, she regretted what she had said to him earlier. Meanwhile, Shin returned to find the signs of a struggle and that Lu was missing. Sakamoto shortly returned, and the two immediately started tracking her using the GPS name tag on her apron.
Shin and Sakamoto quickly caught up to them on the highway, but there was a bit of a struggle between both parties on the highway. A man named Seba was introduced here, who had the ability to turn invisible. He almost immediately defeated Shin, and he turned to Sakamoto, who turned out to be too much of an opponent for him to beat, so he broke the oil tank in Sakamoto’s motorbike and set it on fire, and he escaped thanks to the diversion caused by the explosion. With this, Sakamoto and Shin decided to pay a visit to the Lab, which was once Shin’s home.
Sakamoto and Shin headed to the Okutabi Science Museum, which housed The Lab in its basement. Shin triggered all the mechanisms required to access the Lab; however, they had their passcode changed, which caused an automated intruder elimination sequence to be triggered, as a result of which Sakamoto and Shin had to fight a few bear and dinosaur animatronics. After this, they headed downstairs into the lab.
Elsewhere, in the same basement, Lu was locked in a cellar, and the man named Seba was asked by a man named to capture Shin at all costs. Parallel to this, Sakamoto and Shin descended into the Lab, where they knocked out a man who threatened to kill a scientist. While the situation had Shin confused at first, he realized that an organization had taken over The Lab, trapped their boss, and had all the other scientists do research to make a discovery for them.
Right after all the scientists of the Lab and Shin had their reunion, they were visited by the head of the enemy that had subjugated the Lab. The man named Mad Horiguchi appeared to look as mad as his name suggested as he had many syringes stuck on his shoulders. He attacked Shin with one of these syringes, which messed up the signals in his brain and impaired his speech. Horiguchi would’ve tried to play more with Shin if it weren’t for Sakamoto, who stepped in and bashed Horigushi into a table. He then steeled his resolve to save Lu and every other scientist in the lab for Shin’s sake.
3. What To Expect In Episode 8 of Sakamoto Days?
Episode 8 of Sakamoto Days will likely reveal more of Mad Horiguchi’s abilities, and Sakamoto may spar with him for a while longer. However, we can expect Horiguchi to temporarily withdraw from the battle as he seems to be the boss of the place, and he couldn’t have himself be defeated so early into the arc. Meanwhile, it would seem Lu had made contact with the original head of the Lab, who asked for her assistance to break out from their cellars, so we can expect Lu to make a comeback on her own without Sakamoto having to rescue her.
It is important to note that the episode ended with the entry of two members of the Order, Osaragi and Shishiba, who had come to investigate the Okutabi Science Museum due to the rumors that suggested that the Slur had been involved there. With their entry, the story will take a drastic turn, as Sakamoto’s motive to save the Lab will be hindered by the Order’s will to assassinate Sakamoto.
