Smuggling resources is something unheard of in the Assassin’s Creed universe. Well, it’s a new feature introduced in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. To put it simply, you “smuggle” resources to upgrade your hideouts. So, how do you smuggle resources exactly?

How to smuggle resources in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Naoe can get a decent loot from small chests. However, you might need to move around a bigger stash. 

Smuggling requires a team so make sure to have at least two scouts on standby. Simply mark an item and let your companions do the heavy lifting. 

Here’s the controls to mark a resource:

• PlayStation 5: Hold the triangle button.
• Xbox Series X/S: Hold ‘Y’.
• PC: Hold ‘E’.

Resources in large scales can be found in enemy camps and castles. Look for the gold emblem in these areas to spot them. 

Scouts are absolutely essential not just for transporting stuff but also as reliable allies. They can clear your name if you ever get in trouble with guards. They also keep a look out for enemies and watch your back.

How to upgrade your hideouts in Assassin’s Creed Shadows?

Any item you have successfully smuggled will be stored in your hideout. You can then use these items to upgrade your hideout, carry out renovations and more.

Once in your hideout, explore the menu and go through the ‘Build Menu’. Whatever changes you would like to make are available here.

A hideout is like a second base. You can rest and recuperate. Even your furry companions are welcome!

Assassin’s Creed Shadows is an upcoming action role-playing video game developed by Ubisoft Quebec and published by Ubisoft, set to release in November 15, 2024. The game is the fourteenth major installment in the Assassin’s Creed series and the successor to 2023’s Assassin’s Creed Mirage, as well as the first title to be included in the Assassin’s Creed: Infinity platform.

Set in 16th-century Japan towards the end of the Sengoku period, the game will focus on the millennia-old struggle of the Assassin Brotherhood, who fight for peace and liberty, and the Templar Order, who desire peace through control, from the perspective of two protagonists: Naoe, a female shinobi, and Yasuke, an African samurai inspired by the historical figure of the same name.
