PS5 release date brought forward

State of Play Borderlands 4

Announced a few months back, Sony has now confirmed the State of Play livestream for Borderlands 4 will take place tomorrow, 30th April. It’ll feature over 20 minutes of gameplay covering “missions, killer weapons, exciting Action Skills, new and returning characters, and more”. The show starts at 10pm BST / 2pm PT / 5pm ET.

“Get ready for a deep dive on Borderlands 4,” said creative director Graeme Timmins on the PlayStation Blog. “During this special State of Play, I’ll be joined by other members of the Gearbox team to share the nitty-gritty details of how you’ll wreak havoc across Kairos and take down the Timekeeper.”

In addition to the State of Play livestream, Gearbox has also announced the Borderlands 4 release date on PS5 has been brought forward to 12th September 2025. This means that the FPS launches two weeks earlier than originally scheduled, potentially leaving more space for GTA 6.
