The Cast Of “Insecure” Just Had A Mini-Reunion, And Now I Really, Really, Really Wish We Were Getting A New Season
The Cast Of “Insecure” Just Reunited This Week, And The Photos Will Make You Wish You Had A Time Machine
I can’t believe they’re back together again.
It’s been almost four years since Insecure ended, and I’m still low-key holding out for Season 6, okay?!
Fair warning: I’ve included corny callbacks to all the seasons of what I consider one of the greatest television shows of the 21st century.
It doesn’t look like a new season will happen anytime soon, but thanks to Jay Ellis‘s book tour, a bunch of the cast reunited, making me feel nostalgic-like.
For Did Everyone Have an Imaginary Friend (or Just Me)? Malik Books hosted “Jay Ellis in Conversation with Issa Rae.” Seeing the star-crossed TV lovers together again brought hella tears to my eyes.
And, here’s everybody who showed up to the event looking good as f***:
Neil Brown Jr. (who played Chad Kerr) had the same ol’ sneaky good looks.
Wade Allain-Marcus (who played Derek DuBois) was all buddy-buddy as usual with everyone.
Jean Elie (who played Ahmal Dee) was present with his supportive brother vibes.
Even Prentice Penny, the series showrunner, was in the house.
Jay (who played Lawrence Walker) was there to promote his hustle and hard work for his new book.
And, of course, Issa (who played Issa Dee) was looking like the star of the show.
Seeing Issa, Jay, and Yvonne together brought back many memories of one of HBO’s funniest and most original TV series.
For five seasons, Insecure was one of the first shows on the now-nonexistent HBO Go and HBO Now streaming services in a simpler time for television. While they were robbed of any wins, the show racked up multiple Emmy and Golden Globe nominations for its cast, crew, and storytelling.
And years later, everybody you could think of from the series was back together in one place. See if you can spot everyone in this photo:
I am crossing my fingers for Season 6 or a feature film because I will never give up hope.
And that’s that!
