The Community Spotlight 2025.03.01

Screen to leg is the only way.
Welcome to the latest edition of the Giant Bomb Community Spotlight! I, @zombiepie, am once again honored to be your host as we look back at the site-related news and best community creations from the past week!
Well, this week the most significant news item worth discussing isn’t exactly the most surprising one. This week marked the start of the new effort for Giant Bomb to share and host cross-collaboration content with other sites, in particular, GameSpot. Many thanks to the likes of Tom Caswell and others for their time and all of the hard work they did this week.
As Dan put it best on the Giant Bombcast 879 and chucktowski transcribed to a Reddit post, everything that is being done to be complimentary to Giant Bomb’s current programming schedule. The current programming that you are enjoying right now isn’t being cancelled and the hope is to just have longer blocks of uninterrupted streaming content. Also, Giant Bomb getting cross-posted on GameSpot has already shown to be incredibly assistive in getting the word out about the great stuff being done by the staff with most editions of Game Mess Morning netting thousands of extra views on their account.
The staff plans to have a better and more public streaming schedule and the only real “change” is that Game Mess Mornings is changing names and this is a change Grubb wants. An example of what is planned for the first full week of this is:
Monday 03/03/25 streams:
- Game Mess Mornings – Noon ET, 9 AM PT
- GBKidz with Shawn and Niki
- Dan’s Block
Now, I know what a lot of you might be worried about and it is a fear I also have expressed in the meetings I have had with our Fandom rep. With more programming and streams, the issue of accessibility becomes a bigger problem. Here’s what I can promise right now, and I’m going to need your help from time to time, I can promise to give you a bulleted list of everything that aired on the Spotlight, but I need some of you to drop links to the VODs after they finish. Like most of you, I’m not on the internet watching streams every day. Nonetheless, here’s my first got at this and if I missed something, drop a comment and I will be happy to edit it in.

There’s a new State of the Site article up for your reading pleasure! Give it a read and see what good stuff is happening with the site right now and what’s planned for the future. The good news is that this one is almost entirely positive about plans and the future of the site.
Finally, a new batch of people are commenting that premium podcasts are still not appearing in the correct feeds or at all. If that includes you, drop a comment in the State of the Site article I linked above and dtoast will get back to you what people are telling him and if he has a ticket for that specific podcast episode or not.
