Tulsa King Will Continue Its Grip on Oklahoma in Season 3

Yo, Adrian! Tulsa King is back. According to Paramount, the Sylvester Stallone drama is officially returning for a third season. The crime series—created by Taylor Sheridan—stars Stallone as Dwight “The General” Manfredi, a former mafia capo who is relocated from New York City to Tulsa.

Production on season 3 is already kicking up in Atlanta and Oklahoma, which Martin Starr revealed to reporters at SXSW before the official announcement. “We start production next week,” the actor told Collider. “This new season is going to be a lot of fun. It looks already like there’s going to be a lot of action, and there are some loose ends that may or may not get tied up.” Vague, but promising!

When we left Dwight Manfredi at the end of season 2, he seemingly defeated all his enemies. Then, he’s arrested in the middle of the night and taken to a warehouse. With bright lights shining in his face, a mysterious new threat tells him, “You work for us now.” Folks, you surely knew that season 3 was right around the corner after that cliff-hanger.

According to Deadline, the series is continuing without head showrunner Terrance Winter (The Wire). Dave Erickson, who helms Sheridan’s Jeremy Renner-starring Mayor of Kingstown, is set to take over as executive producer and showrunner for season 3. Winter is reportedly leaving the project due to creative differences. He is also set to create a series for FX about mobster Salvator “Sammy the Bull” Gravano.

The good news? Stallone is reportedly signed on for a two-year deal. So, season 4 already looks like a shoo-in. “I always wanted to play a gangster, but with a different twist on it,” Stallone told CBS in September. “This guy? He’s quirky. He’s funny. He’s kind. He has pizazz.” Now, Stallone can add season 3 to the list.
