Tom Sandoval SETS RECORD STRAIGHT on Tom Schwartz “Stepping Away”
It’s an end of an era for Schwartz & Sandy’s.
Vanderpump Rules star Tom Sandoval announced that the Los Angeles restaurant, which he opened with costar Tom Schwartz in November 2022, will permanently close its doors in December.
“Schwartz & Sandy’s will be closing its doors at the end of December,” the statement posted to Instagram Nov. 25 read. “To our amazing staff and the patrons who’ve walked through our doors: thank you for everything. You are (and have always been) the backbone of Schwartz & Sandy’s.”
The restaurant will host “one last celebration” before closing for good, urging fans to “make this month one to remember.”
In December, Sandoval and Schwartz will host an ugly sweater party, a pajama party and a Taylor Swift-themed party for the singer’s 35th birthday on Dec. 13. The restaurant’s final event will be a Bad Santa party set to take place during L.A. SantaCon Dec. 14.
As viewers saw on Vanderpump Rules, Schwartz & Sandy’s had a rocky road from the start and its opening was much delayed.
The establishment also found itself in the crosshairs of Scandoval. After Sandoval’s affair with costar Raquel Leviss came to light, viewers flooded Schwartz & Sandy’s Yelp page with negative reviews in solidarity for Sandoval’s then-longtime girlfriend Ariana Madix.
The backlash prompted the 42-year-old to release a statement defending the restaurant and his business partners.
“Hey, I fully understand and deserve your anger & disappointment towards me, but please leave Schwartz, my friends and family out of this situation,” he wrote in March 2023. “This was a very personal thing. Also, Schwartz & Sandy’s might have my name on it but also there are three other partners and 20 employees, who especially rely on the restaurant for income for them and their families.”
“Please direct all your anger at me and not them,” he added. “They did nothing wrong.”
The closing of his restaurant comes as the future of Vanderpump Rules is also uncertain. When asked recently whether the Bravo series will have another season, Ariana told E! News simply, “I don’t know.”

Meanwhile, Sandoval shared that the former couple is officially moving on from the home they used to live in together, the handling of which took them nearly a year and a half to figure out.
“The house is going on the market,” he shared on his podcast in October. “Selling the house, getting it ready.”
And he’s clearly ready for his next chapter, adding that he and girlfriend Victoria Lee Robinson are “moving in together.”
