Audio Reveals What The Child Said To 911 Dispatcher

As mentioned, the incident happened on Tuesday, March 4. The unidentified four-year-old dialed 911 and told the dispatcher his mother needed to be arrested. According to the audio recording obtained by several media outlets, THIS is how the conversation went:

“My mom is being bad,” the kid told the dispatcher, who responded, “Ok, what’s going on?” He replied, “Come and get my mommy.”

The dispatcher again inquired about what was happening, and the child repeated his request for an arrest. At that point, a woman believed to be the boy’s mom grabbed the phone and explained the situation. She revealed that the kid was only four and that she was trying to grab the phone from him after he said he would call 911.

In the background, the kid said: “No…I called the police and I told her come and get my mommy…and I just told her to put her to jail. So leave me alone.” Meanwhile, his mother cleared the air. She admitted to eating the toddler’s ice cream.

What Happened When Police Pulled Up

Still, Mount Pleasant PD officers pulled up to the home, shocking the mom. In bodycam footage, she says, “Oh, it’s the police; they came for real.” The mom shouted for the responsible child who made the call and asked him why he called 911. At first, he said his mom was being bad to him, hitting him, and doing “silly stuff.” But the responding officer cleared the air on the “hitting” part.

“So, no calling 911 unless it’s a real emergency, okay,” the responding officer told the child. Then, another cop joked about arresting the mom, and the mom went along with the joke. She later revealed that this was the first time her son had ever done this and that he had used Siri to make the call. Mom didn’t think the call would go through, but when it did, she started chasing him around the house to get the phone back. Eventually, the officers left without any incidents, again reminding the boy that 911 is for emergencies only.

Cops Surprise Boy With Ice Cream The Next Day

One day after the hilarious phone call, the responding female officers returned to the boy’s house. This time, they had a special surprise for him: an ice cream sundae with blue sprinkles. The PD shared a recap photo of the officers posing with lil’ man and his sweet treat.

“On 3/4/25, Officer Gardinier and Officer Ostergaard were dispatched for a 911 hangup. A little boy called 911 saying his mom was being bad and needed to go to jail. When Officers arrived he said his mom ate his ice cream and needed to go to jail for it. He told them he no longer wanted her to go to jail and just wanted some ice cream. Officers responded back today to surprise him with some ice cream after he decided he didn’t want mom in trouble anymore!”

As mentioned, the post went viral! Nearly 4,000 people commented and reshared the police department’s Facebook post. The reactions range from laughter and agreeance with the kid to some critiques about rewarding “ad behavior.” Thoughts, roomies? Let us know in the comment section what YOU would do!
