What to Buy in September 2024: New Releases and Sales

Notable releases this month for physical media collectors include the Batman 85th Anniversary Collection and the Inside Out 2 steelbook arriving on September 10. Following that, Osgood Perkins’ Longlegs and a new Transfomers seven-movie collection will both come out on September 24.

New LEGO Sets for September

LEGO fans are never hurting for new sets, but September’s lineup has some of the coolest new releases of the year so far. As of September 1, you can now purchase the first-ever Legend of Zelda LEGO set, Dungeons & Dragons Minifigures, and the new Nightmare Before Christmas Set. We actually got the chance to build the Legend of Zelda Great Deku Tree set ourselves and can confirm it’s pretty sweet. September also marks the release of the 2024 LEGO advent calendars, which are great presents for the leadup to Christmas.

New iPhones, Apple Watches, and AirPods for September

September is one of the best times to buy a new iPhone every year, thanks to Apple sticking to a pretty predictable release schedule. This year, we are expecting the reveal of the iPhone 16 on September 9 during Apple’s fall event. This means we are going to start to see discounts on previous generation phones like the iPhone 15 and iPhone 14, as well as promotions from carriers encouraging people to upgrade. We are also expecting new Apple Watches and AirPods, so you can likely expect similar discounts to start appearing on those.

Kindle Unlimited 10th Anniversary Sale

Kindle Unlimited was first released all the way back in 2014 and Amazon is offering a sale on the service this September to celebrate 10 years of the e-reader subscription. From now until September 15, existing members can save on a full year by purchasing 12 months for the price of 10. New members can get three months for the price of one.

End of the Season Clothing Sales

One of the absolute best things to buy in September every year is summer clothing. Many of the major clothing retailers will have end of the season sales to try to clear out their stock of T-shirts, sandals, and other warm weather apparel as we transition to fall. Labor Day sales are really only the start of these discounts, and we are still seeing retailers like Target offering significant discounts on these items.
