It’s been 25 (!) years since we met James Gandolfini’s Tony Soprano and his unruly family members. And you know what? The Sopranos still holds up as one of the greatest television shows of all time. Since the best part of watching The Sopranos is exploring Tony’s psyche without suffering the consequences of his choices, MAX is diving deeper into Tony’s world. To celebrate the show’s 25th anniversary, the streamer updated The Sopranos‘ landing page with over five hours of behind-the-scenes videos, cast interviews, and deleted scenes.
“‘The Sopranos left an indelible imprint on the global entertainment culture and was instrumental in defining HBO as the destination for groundbreaking, award-winning programming,” wrote HBO executive Zach Enterlin in a press statement. “The many ways we will honor this 25-year milestone will allow fans to celebrate the Soprano legacy and pay tribute to the characters that have had such an enduring impact.”
I won’t complain about never-before-seen footage (thank you, HBO), but if you really want to understand Tony, there are a few upcoming events that will have you feeling like a Soprano—but without, you know, the trauma. Do you live in New York? Head to Da Nico’s in Little Italy from January 11 to February 4 for an authentic Sopranos dinner. The menu includes Carmela’s baked ziti and a Satriale’s-themed caprese. HBO is also partnering with Jamie-Lynn Sigler and Robert Iler for a 25th-anniversary podcast—where the actors will chat about playing Meadow and AJ.
With this many options, you can’t go wrong. Just be sure to pair your celebration with a plate of gabagool. It’s what Tony would want.
