XOLEX Releases Moving New Single “Time Won’t”

Rising country singer-songwriter XOLEX, aka Alexis Curran, unveils her brand-new single, “Time Won’t,” an exploration of the evanescence of time, reminding us to treasure each and every moment.
XOLEX shares, “Being a songwriter, I wanted to write something that was laying heavy on my heart recently. When I was younger, everyone would always tell me ‘Time flies.’ Now that I’m grown, that saying haunts me every day. I want people to listen to this song and recognize we should never take time for granted—to be where your two feet are and take in every moment.”
Originally from Chariton, Iowa, and now based in Nashville, XOLEX began writing songs early on. Later, she studied at Iowa State University, where she majored in marketing and advertising. When the pandemic hit, she resolved to focus on her music.
After moving to Nashville, she started working with renowned producers such as Bobby Terry, who has collaborated with both Garth Brooks and Faith Hill, and Troy Johnson, who has worked with Keith Urban and Sara Evans.
In 2022, XOLEX released “Hungover On You,” followed by “Ain’t Buyin’ It.” In 2023, she broke through with “Folsom Prison Blues.” Since then, she has released a series of tantalizing singles, including “Daisy Dukes,” and “Rebel Child,” a song revealing her defiant disposition. She dropped her debut EP, Girls Like Me, in 2024. Currently, XOLEX is working on her debut album.
At the beginning of 2025, she released “Missing Her,” a low-slung, shimmering song, dripping with wistful melancholy.
“Time Won’t” opens on a creamy, gleaming-lite melody topped by XOLEX’s twangy, evocative vocals, imbuing the lyrics with a nuanced palette of tonal hues. It’s an oh-so mesmerizing voice, under exquisite control, capable of expressing profound emotions.
A subtle rhythm supports a gentle, poignant guitar, luminous accents, and the swelling flow of pensive strings, shaping softly gliding, compelling textures.
The singular depth and haunting essence of XOLEX’s vocals infuse “Time Won’t” with a sense of time’s passage, and ephemeral imminence.
