Yikes, so Carrie Underwood is going to perform at Donald Trump’s inauguration.
According to Axios and AP News, the country singer will perform “America the Beautiful” during the ceremony on Jan. 20.
The decision is especially notable given that no celebrities performed at Trump’s first inauguration — “America the Beautiful” was performed by the Mormon group The Tabernacle Choir at Temple Square.
Some took to social media to express their frustration with Carrie’s decision to perform for the felon:

Interestingly, at the 2017 Country Music Awards, Carrie performed a parody alongside co-host Brad Paisley called “Before He Tweets” that poked fun at the then-president for his social media rants. One lyric, sung by Brad, went, “It’s fun to watch it that’s for sure / before little Rocket Man starts a nuclear war.”
Nothing alarming about this at all!
UPDATE “I love our country and am honored to have been asked to sing at the Inauguration and to be a small part of this historic event,” Carrie said in a statement following the news. “I am humbled to answer the call at a time when we must all come together in the spirit of unity and looking to the future.”
