Here’s What Happened to Each of Griselda Blanco’s Sons

preview for Griselda | Official Trailer | Netflix

THE NEW NETFLIX limited series Griselda follows the life of infamous Colombian drug queenpin Griselda Blanco, played by an almost-unrecognizable Sofia Vergara. Executive produced by the creative team behind Narcos, Griselda follows the drug trafficker’s ascent through the criminal underworld of Miami in the ’70s and ’80s, and depicts with brutal, lurid detail the violent ferocity with which she would dole out intimidation and punishment to those who opposed or betrayed her.

Also mentioned in the show are Blanco’s four sons—Dixon Trujillo-Blanco, Uber Trujillo-Blanco, Osvaldo Trujillo-Blanco, and Michael Corleone Blanco—whom she inducted into her cartel and who enjoyed lavish lifestyles on the spoils of the cocaine trade before her inevitable arrest and conviction.

In the final episode of Griselda, Blanco is visited in prison by June Hawkins, a real-life intelligence agent played by Juliana Aidén Martinez, who informs her that three of her four sons have been killed.

“Dixon was shot while he was walking to his car,” Hawkins tells Blanco. “Ozzy was in a crowded nightclub. Uber was shot in Colombia was he was making a drug deal.” It is heavily implied that all three were murdered by rival drug lords in retribution for Blanco’s own actions.

What really happened to Griselda’s sons?

According to the Miami News Times, Blanco’s three oldest sons Dixon, Uber and Osvaldo are all dead, and CBS News has corroborated that at least two of them were murdered.

Blanco’s youngest son Michael is still alive. He was a cast member on the VH1 reality series Cartel Crew, and now runs the lifestyle brand Pure Blanco. He and his wife Marie are currently suing Netflix and the creators of Griselda, claiming that the show is based on recordings of conversations Michael had with producers for which he received no compensation.

“Netflix, as we’ve alleged, is using these ideas that were part of interviews that were memorialized, and writings and notes. Nobody else could have those ideas and nobody else could have those stories,” Michael has stated, adding that he believes the show has misrepresented his mother and “misappropriated” his family’s story.
