HIMSS24 vendor news roundup: From AI to imaging to RTLS

The HIMSS24 exhibit hall has been loaded this week with vendors from across the healthcare information technology spectrum. Many have made announcements on new systems, upgrades and partnerships to advance their technology offerings.

Following is a selection of these announcements from a diverse group of health IT vendors.

Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas

Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas announced a new integration of the Exa Platform with AWS HealthImaging. The Exa Platform is an enterprise imaging, PACS, RIS and billing system offering features such as server-side rendering, diagnostic zero footprint viewer, and a single, integrated database across all modules.

Using AWS HealthImaging services allows Konica Minolta to focus on delivering production workflow software for imaging customers with AWS managing the infrastructure. Customers can gain advantages from the expanded depth of a comprehensive system, Konica Minolta said.

Konica Minolta will offer integration with AWS HealthImaging through the Exa Platform, using application program interfaces and introducing its use of platform-as-a-service offerings from AWS. The Exa Platform will use AWS HealthImaging for storage and retrieval of DICOM instances, offering customers the benefits of significant storage savings and faster retrieval speeds, the company said.

Konica Minolta Healthcare Americas can be found at HIMSS24 in the AWS Booth 1561.

CenTrak

CenTrak, a vendor of real-time location technologies, has launched a scalable Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) Multi-Mode Platform.

This new real-time location system (RTLS), crafted to cater to the diverse needs of healthcare organizations, offers location data capabilities and a cost-effective deployment model. Following the recent release of ConnectRT, CenTrak’s unified cloud-based software platform, the company continues to extend its suite of offerings to try and tackle the ongoing challenges pervasive in the healthcare industry, CenTrak said.

CenTrak’s BLE Multi-Mode Platform provides hybrid architecture that transitions between BLE and all CenTrak Clinical-Grade Locating environments. This interoperability empowers customers to leverage mixed RTLS infrastructure within a single building or across an entire hospital campus to balance affordability and precision according to department need, the company said.

By using existing BLE-enabled hospital networks and infrastructure, this integration technology potentially can accelerate the adoption of location-based services with tag and badge only deployments for use cases such as staff duress, asset tracking and others.

Innovaccer

Innovaccer has unveiled its new provider AI companion, a device that extends the functionality of its healthcare AI ecosystem.

With this addition and the rollout of its analytics suite upgrade, Innovaccer aims to help providers achieve success with value-based care while enhancing their ability to rediscover the joy of patient care.

The provider AI companion is a portable AI software and tablet device designed to support clinicians and care providers with real-time data visualization, access to critical patient information, and AI-generated diagnosis suggestions based on symptoms and medical history. It includes a dictation microphone with ambient audio capture.

The AI companion automatically transcribes exam room and virtual visits with the ability to understand and transcribe medical terminology, and it learns from conversation context to bring up relevant patient charts for easy viewing.

“The provider AI companion will have a huge impact by freeing up providers to focus more on their patients and help reduce burnout,” said Abhinav Shashank, cofounder and CEO of Innovaccer. “In addition, our enhanced analytics solution suite offers a prescriptive approach, providing recommendations based on historical data and predictive analytics models.”

MDClone

MDClone, a vendor of analytics and synthetic data, has partnered with the University of Chicago and UChicago Medicine to establish an ADAMS Center, a unified data-driven epicenter for innovation, research and quality improvement projects for the Chicago health system.

ADAMS represents the innovation process of Ask, Discover, Act, Measure and then Share, focused on generating quicker insights at scale by fostering synergy among teams. When the ADAMS Center is fully established at Chicago Medicine by fall 2024, collaborators across the UChicago Medicine health system will have the benefit of the learnings and knowledge of other ADAMS Centers in MDClone’s Global Network to:

  • Transform the health system into a continuous learning environment aligned with leadership goals and objectives.
  • Empower research and clinical teams to be champions of change through faster and easier access to information.
  • Safely leverage synthetic data to establish collaboration with external partners.

The ADAMS Center will enable the UChicago Medicine health system to accelerate research, evaluate and improve care delivery, and seek new innovative partnerships by making data available faster with self-service tools as well as safer by providing synthetic data when appropriate to clinicians, trainees and administrators, MDClone said.

MDClone is in Booth 451 at HIMSS24.

MedeAnalytics

MedeAnalytics, a healthcare analytics software-as-a-service company that enables clinical, financial and operational analytics for healthcare providers, payers, employers and other stakeholders, has debuted its newest system, Value-Based Care Administration.

This offering, built collaboratively with HSBlox as part of an exclusive partnership, supports healthcare organizations from a contract management perspective wherever they are on their value-based care journey, providing management of many-to-many hierarchies between entities in a network (network of networks) while harmonizing and implementing all payment models (including value-based and fee-for-service) with the ability to scale across the healthcare ecosystem, the company said.

By harnessing the power of the MedeAnalytics data fabric to collect, aggregate and analyze healthcare data with the HSBlox platform for value-based care contract management and administration, this new, integrated system allows organizations flexibility and interoperability to accelerate digital transformation and engage in a single platform, even extending into payment modeling and facilitation, the company added.

“Achieving success in value-based care requires understanding of where you are today, where you want to go – and when you’ve arrived,” said Rahul Sharma, CEO of HSBlox. “The flexibility to support all value-based care models in one place, with onboarding of the many-to-many hierarchical relationships required of these programs, is a game-changer for the advancement of value-based care.”

MedeAnalytics is in Booth 6663 at HIMSS24.
