Philadelphia Eagles star Jalen Hurts is already turning his team’s 38-35 Super Bowl LVII loss to the Kansas City Chiefs into motivational fuel for the seasons ahead.
“We lost,” he told reporters after the game. “We came here to win. We came up short. It’s something that I know will motivate me.”
Hurts added, “You either win or you learn.”

Even in defeat, the game represented a stark contrast from how the Eagles’ 2021 season ended.
Philly fell behind 31-0 to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFC Wild Card Round, and Hurts’ performance (23-of-43 for 258 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions) created enough room to doubt whether he was truly the guy.
NFL.com’s Bucky Brooks wrote last April how “the jury is still out on whether Hurts can be Philadelphia’s long-term answer at the position.”
The 24-year-old proceeded to play at an MVP-type level in the regular season and ball out in the Super Bowl. He threw for 304 yards and one touchdown and was Philly’s leading rusher with 70 yards and three scores on the ground.
Nobody is doubting Hurts anymore.

Tom Brady collecting seven career Super Bowl rings and Patrick Mahomes winning two titles by age 27 has somewhat warped the expectations of fans. It’s no given that the Eagles will be back here again within the next few years.
But there’s no question the franchise is in good hands with Hurts at the helm.
