A field of 89 golfers will hit the greens at Augusta National Golf Club this week for the 2024 Masters Tournament. Only one will emerge from the prestigious event as the champion.

It’s never easy to pick a winner heading into a four-day, 72-hole golf tournament, especially one with as many talented participants as the Masters. There have also been a lot of different golfers to win green jackets at the event in recent years—11 over the past 11 years, in fact.

But bettors will still try to make correct wagers in the time leading up to the 2024 Masters. Some bets will be smarter picks than the others, so it’s important to make the right ones.

Here’s betting advice for this year’s Masters Tournament, with all odds courtesy of DraftKings Sportsbook.

Best Bet to Win: Scottie Scheffler (+450)

Sometimes, it’s the best move to bet on the favorite heading into a tournament. That should be the case with Scottie Scheffler, the No. 1-ranked golfer in the world who has the strongest odds of winning the 2024 Masters.

Scheffler is a former Masters champion, having won the event in 2022. He’s never missed the cut at Augusta National, either, finishing 19th or better in all four of his career appearances at the event.

No golfer is playing better this year than Scheffler. The 27-year-old already has a pair of victories in 2024, winning both the Arnold Palmer Invitational and the Players Championship in March. He’s coming off another strong showing at the Houston Open, where he tied for second.

Sure, there’s a chance Scheffler won’t win another green jacket, because he’s facing such strong competition. But there’s a high likelihood he could capture a second Masters championship in a three-year span, making him a great pick.

Safe Bet: Jon Rahm to Finish in Top 10 (+115)

Jon Rahm may not win the Masters Tournament for the second straight year, which is an incredibly difficult feat. The 2023 champion will be looking to do something that hasn’t been done since Tiger Woods won the event in back-to-back years in 2001 and 2002.

But count on this: Rahm will have a solid showing at Augusta National once again. The 29-year-old always plays well at the course, having placed in the top nine in five of his seven career appearances. He’s also never missed the cut at the Masters.

So far this year, Rahm has been playing some strong rounds on the LIV Golf tour. However, the competition will be tougher in the stacked Masters field.

Still, expect Rahm to finish in the top 10, as he typically does in this tournament. It should be a profitable bet to make.

Sleeper Pick: Rickie Fowler (+14000 to Win)

If you’re looking to wager a small amount of money on a longshot, consider placing a little bet on Rickie Fowler. The 35-year-old is returning to the Masters Tournament for the first time since 2020, and he’s had some strong showings at Augusta National in the past.

Fowler finished 12th or better at the Masters five times from 2014-19. His best showing was a runner-up in 2018. So it’s clear he knows how to play the course at Augusta National well.

It hasn’t been a great year for Fowler so far. He hasn’t finished better than 35th in a tournament, and he’s coming off a missed cut at the Valero Texas Open this past weekend.

Still, it’s always possible Fowler gets hot again at the Masters. It’s happened before. And if it happens this weekend, maybe he’ll finally notch his first career victory at a major tournament.
