A Quiet Place The Road Ahead Review – Being Quiet is the Key

Horror fans will surely know the A Quiet Place franchise, which currently has one book and two films. However, Stormind Games decided that the gaming world had to have a work dedicated to this universe and that’s how A Quiet Place The Road Ahead was born.

In this A Quiet Place The Road Ahead review, therefore, we will try to provide you with all the information necessary to ensure that you can consider purchasing the game or not. Sit down and discover what we have to say about this game (please: be quiet!).

Ssh, Be Quiet!

Anyone who is not a stranger to the world of A Quiet Place will know that the enemies that are present in the game are very sensitive to noises. So, just like in the movies, the main thing is to stay silent. Even the most imperceptible noise to the human ear can be perceived by the creatures that, if they were to find you, will immediately kill you resulting in a game over.

As for the plot itself, it is a sort of spin-off of what you have the opportunity to witness in the movies. We play as a pregnant girl who suffers from asthma (this is a very important detail for the gameplay) who will have to face what are her fears in this post-apocalyptic world. So, as you can see, it is not anything super original, but the game was developed in such a way that the plot could slip away without too many frills.

Like the Xenomorph

We have already said that the main game mechanic of A Quiet Place The Road Ahead revolves around trying to make as little noise as possible while trying to carry out the objectives. However, the game has some points of contact with Alien Isolation. In fact, the monsters that will chase you in A Quiet Place The Road Ahead will have a very similar way of behaving to that of the Xenomorph. They will learn from your movements and will follow you to try to kill you.

Furthermore, another very important and interesting game mechanic is related to the microphone. You will, in fact, have the possibility of being able to activate it from the settings and this will allow you to immerse yourself even more in the game. Having the microphone activated means that any noise you make during your adventure can be heard in-game by enemies. Therefore, it is very important that you remain silent while playing.

Another important thing to highlight is the fact that the protagonist suffers from asthma. As we have already mentioned, this is a key element for the gameplay. In fact, you will have to be very careful when you decide to move heavy objects or if there are creatures nearby that can make the character go into caticardia, as this will increase the level of asthma that will lead the protagonist to have a crisis (and therefore be discovered).

For the rest, as in Alien Isolation, you will spend a lot of your time hiding so as not to be found by enemies, so A Quiet Place The Road Ahead is a game that has a decidedly stealth approach. If you are looking for something more adrenaline-filled, it is absolutely not the game for you. If, however, you are a fan of the genre, you will certainly find something to your liking.

Anxious Atmosphere

Based on what we have told you so far, the atmosphere of A Quiet Place The Road Ahead is definitely very anxiety-inducing. A Quiet Place The Road Ahead may not inspire real terror (especially to those who are used to playing this type of game), but the sense of anxiety is definitely something that the development team was able to create.

All of this, of course, is also thanks to an excellent sound design that is excellent and allows you to perfectly identify with the protagonist. Just as it should also be emphasized how a great job has been done for the sound effects that are present in the game. So, if you decide to embark on this journey, keep in mind that the anxiety factor is quite high.

A Quiet Place The Road Ahead Review – 7/10

A Quiet Place The Road Ahead is a spin-off of the famous franchise that had great success with its two films. Although the game’s plot is not excellent and there are no real original ideas, it is still playable and enjoyable for the duration of the game (a lot depends on your skills, but on average a playthrough can last about 8 hours).

The gameplay, also thanks to the presence of the microphone and enemies that are on your tail even if you make a small move, is very reminiscent of Alien Isolation, even if it does not reach high levels like the aforementioned title. So, ultimately, we can say that A Quiet Place The Road Ahead is a good game that can certainly please fans of the genre and that is definitely worth trying.
