All Races Confirmed So Far in Dragon’s Dogma 2

With the release of the high-fantasy epic Dragon’s Dogma 2 looming over the horizon, we take a look at all the races confirmed in the game so far.

Dragon’s Dogma 2 is shaping up to be one of the most highly anticipated titles of early 2024. For veteran RPG fans, this is THE dream title. Those who played the original 2012 release already know how deep and expansive the lore is in the game. And from what we’ve seen so far, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is set to be the perfect successor to the classic.

Like any RPG character creation is a core part of the game. And it all starts with choosing the race for your hero. It seems the devs understand that as well, which is why they released a full Character Creator for the game that lets you create your character right now that you can use once the game comes out.

But that’s a story for another day. For now, we want to take a closer look at all the races that the developers have confirmed will make an appearance in the vast world of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Let’s dive in!

Dragon’s Dogma 2 All Races Confirmed

In Dragon’s Dogma 2, there are three confirmed races so far: Humans, Elves, and Beastrens. Of course, there might be more races added when the game releases, but these three are the only ones we know about at the moment.

Here’s a quick overview of each of these races:

1. Humans

The Human race takes center stage in Dragon’s Dogma 2, offering players a chance to immerse themselves in the game as one of its most prominent inhabitants. However, the world of humans can be pretty complex to navigate because of its complex web of political intrigue and power struggles.

Vermund, one of the main Human kingdoms, for instance, is under control of a false Arisen King who has the support of the Queen Regent. It’s a narrative that’ll surely get explored a lot more deeply.

As you delve into the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2, you’ll encounter a cast of memorable Human characters, each with their own stories to tell and roles to play in the grand narrative. From the ambitious Ulrika, the young leader of Melve, to the virtuous Captain Brant of the Human Guard, these characters promise to add depth and intrigue to your adventures.

As for character creation options, you can choose Humans for both your Arisen and your Pawn. Humans are a diverse bunch with varying skin tones and hair colors, along with their distinct ethnic features that you can use to create the perfect character to roam the world of Dragon’s Dogma 2.

2. Elves

Alongside Humans, Elves will also inhabit the game world of Dragon’s Dogma 2. However, you can’t choose it as the Class for your Arisen or Pawn.

The Elven people mostly keep to themselves in Dragon’s Dogma 2. They prefer an isolated life in Sacred Harbour, away from the political unrest of the other nations. Elvens communicate using the Elvish language. If your Pawn knows the language, he can act as a translator, allowing you to communicate with the Elves easily.

Their distinguishing features include pointed ears and slender, tall bodies. Elves are masters of the wood and use the Bow as their primary weapon.

Among the notable elven characters we may encounter are the siblings Glyndwr and Doireann. Uncommon among his kin, Glyndwr lacks the courage and confidence typically associated with elves, yet he displays a keen interest in human tools and has a proficiency in their language.

His gentle and well-mannered sister, Doireann, has picked up a few words of the human tongue from her brother, setting the stage for an intriguing storyline where players may be called upon to aid in her rescue.

3. Beastren

Remember the Khajiit race in the Elder Scrolls series? Beastren is pretty much the same thing in Dragon’s Dogma 2. In this game, the Beastren class has a more muscular and bulky physique compared to the feline races in other games.

They hail from Battahl, a land with deep canyons and ancient ruins that give the Beastren people resilience that’s entirely unique to their culture and way of life. The race, with their razor-sharp claws and flexibility, can become great warriors or rangers if you choose that as your vocation.

And as it turns out, the Beastren is a playable race both as your Arisen and your Main Pawn in Dragon’s Dogma 2. In the Character Creator for the game, you get plenty of customization options that are exclusive to this race. So you can make your Beastren protagonist look exactly how you want.

Among their ranks, the Arisen will encounter Nadinia, a prominent figure who serves as the high priestess of the revered Lambent Flame. Graced with a royal education, Nadinia’s goals are noble – to foster peace and prosperity throughout the Beastren nation.

Another notable Beastren character is Menella, the formidable leader of the Lambent Flame guard. Tasked with safeguarding Nadinia, her fellow priests, and the sacred flame itself, Menella is a dedicated and unwavering protector. As a devout Battahl woman, she shares the high priestess’s beliefs and staunchly opposes discrimination among the races.

The world of Dragon’s Dogma 2 promises to be rich and diverse thanks to the unique races that inhabit it. The opportunities for immersion in the game seem limitless whether you play as a Human or as one of the Beastren. Each race is completely unique, with its own distinct culture, lore, and lifestyle.

With just weeks left before its release, we, for one, can’t wait to try out the game for ourselves. We hope you’re just as excited as we are! Good luck!
