Flavor Flav‘s stint on The Masked Singer was brief and his exit was swift — pun intended — but he made his mark on the hit series nonetheless.

The rapper and OG hypeman, who was disguised as the Space Ranger, was eliminated on Wednesday night’s (March 12) episode and went down in history for two reasons. First, he was the easiest reveal ever and second, he’s now the first contestant to cover a Taylor Swift song.

“Boy, was it the most easiest reveal in history because the clues were so simple. Also, I have one of the most distinctive voices on the planet,” Flav teased during our virtual call. “It wasn’t hard to take those clues and link it to my voice. Come on! You listen to my voice, and then you see PE. Everybody knows that don’t stand for physical education.”

Flav also brought up the most obvious clue — his clock belt. “This man is all about clocks. Who else is better to connect somebody to clocks than Flavor Flav? Even a caveman could have figured that one out,” the 65-year-old joked.

The judges, though, were either completely aware and wanted to make for good television or intentionally obtuse with their guesses ranging from Tracy Morgan to Floyd Mayweather.

For Flav, he considered it to be “amusing.” He also described the experience as a bucket list moment.

“[The] show does a lot of the things that I like to do. I like to put people in suspense, number one. Number two, I love hyping up the crowd. You know what I’m saying? I love amusing people and I love entertaining. I just love it all. So, being on ‘The Masked Singer,’ I was able to be on that platform to do all of those things,” he shared.

One day, he hopes to become the first rapper in outer space. For now, he’s quite thrilled to be the first person to perform a Taylor Swift record on the show.

“Hey! King Swiftie in the building! I’m honored to be really having that title,” he gushed about his certified “bestie.” Flav shared, “I go in hard for Taylor, man. I support Taylor hard. Her lyrics are real. She writes about the experiences that she goes through in life, and her experiences are real and they are identifiable.”

When speaking on “Bad Blood,” he admitted that it’s really one of his favorite songs from her and it was the record that got him “interested” in the rest of her discography. “I said to myself, ‘Damn, this girl is bada**, man.’ And that’s why I support her the way that I do.”

Despite him being eliminated, Flav still considers himself to be a winner.

“Put it this way, everybody loves to win. Everybody loves to be a winner, but I didn’t go on that show expecting to win. I went on the show because I just wanted to be able to say, ‘I did it,’” he explained.

After all was said and done, he ended our spirited chat with a message to his fellow contestants: “My only thing is may the best man win.” Other reveals this season include Aubrey O’Day and Cedric The Entertainer.
