Broncos RB Tyler Badie has full movement in arms and legs after suffering scary back injury vs. Jets Sep 30, 2024
Broncos running back Tyler Badie, who was carted off the field after suffering a back injury on Sunday, has full movement in his arms and legs and is back in Denver with the team, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Monday, per a source.
Badie was injured late in the first quarter after taking a big hit to his side from Jets linebacker Quincy Williams, which caused the Broncos RB to fumble. Badie’s twisting body landed awkwardly and he was unable to catch his own weight, causing his head and neck to hit the turf hard.
He was able to get off the field after the play, however, it was a scary situation on the sideline once it was clear Badie was in need of medical attention.
Broncos staff tended to Badie, securing his neck and head on a back board. He was carted off the field and ruled out of the game shortly thereafter.
Badie had one rush for zero yards and two receptions for -4 yards in the Broncos’ 10-9 win over the Jets.
Rapoport reported Badie’s back injury could place him on injured reserve, but the 24-year-old has a chance at returning this season.
A sixth-round pick by the Ravens in 2022, Badie was signed to the Broncos’ active roster from the practice squad ahead of Sunday, coming off a 70-yard game against the Buccaneers in Week 3.
