Bryce Young pulled a Stephen Curry and celebrated his touchdown before it was caught
One of the sneakiest storylines of the NFL season has been Bryce Young getting his career back on track after getting benched early in the season by the Carolina Panthers. The former No. 1 overall pick looked like he was done in Carolina when he lost his starting job to Andy Dalton, but Young eventually returned to the lineup, and has been fantastic since.
Young has thrown a touchdown pass in 10 straight games after getting on the board against the Atlanta Falcons in Week 18. In the third quarter, Young threw his second TD pass of the day, and celebrated before Tommy Tremble even caught the ball. There’s a real confidence to Young’s game now, and it gives Panthers fans something to be excited about for next year.
Watch Young’s TD to Tremble, complete with the celebration before the ball is caught:
Look at Bryce Young calling for the touchdown with his back to the play as his receiver brings it in. The little guy has a lot of swagger right now.
This is like Larry Bird in the 1988 NBA Three-Point Shootout, walking away before the ball drops through the net.
This is Stephen Curry celebrating threes before they drop.
In a terrible NFC South division, anything is possible for the Panthers next season if Young keeps improving at this rate. It is wonderful to see.
