Bryce Young’s Dad Sends Emotional Message to Warren Moon in Prime Docuseries Amid Panthers QB’s Benching
Bryce Young, the 2023 No. 1 overall draft pick for the Carolina Panthers, is no stranger to high expectations. As one of the newest Black quarterbacks to lead an NFL team, Bryce follows the footsteps of many trailblazers who paved the way for him. And his father, Craig Young, chose to show his gratitude to said trailblazers.
In Amazon’s docuseries Evolution of the Black Quarterback, Craig’s emotional message to NFL legend Warren Moon truly stole the spotlight. During an intimate moment in the series, Craig expressed deep gratitude to Moon for his groundbreaking work as one of the first Black quarterbacks to achieve stardom. “Bryce couldn’t be where he is today without you,” Craig told Moon. “Yes, that just from a dad who had to navigate this, thank you for what you did,” the father gave his heartfelt thanks to Moon and also Michael Vick.

From pioneers like James “Shack” Harris to current stars like Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts, the series, hosted by Michael Vick, dives deep into the challenges and triumphs of Black QBs. As Bryce navigates his rookie season with the Panthers, his father’s words to the legend highlight a legacy, making this journey deeply personal for the Young family.

In his first start this season, Dalton’s leading the Panthers 21-7 at halftime, with 212 yards, three TDs, and a 138.6 passer rating! So are things over for Young in Carolina or will he return?
