Cassandre Beaugrand and Henry Graf triumph after long day of Short Distance racing Indoor Triathlon World Cup Lievin

A day full of races over 200 meters of swimming, 2.8 kilometers of cycling and 1 kilometer of running and all in an indoor hall full of spectators: the Indoor Triathlon World Cup Lievin took place today and after all athletes completed several races, Cassandre Beaugrand and Henry Graf eventually won the event.

This afternoon qualifying rounds had already started and were followed by repacharche rounds, semi-finals and thus a final. In the women’s final, some real top athletes started, but in the end Beaugrand was by far the strongest atlete in the field. While during the swim and bike most athletes stayed together, Beaugrand was inimitable during the run, where she decided the race in her favor. Beaugrand won the race in 10:20 minutes, while Lindemann finished second six seconds later and Annika Koch finished third seven seconds behind Beaugrand.

There was also a great field of professional athletes at the start in the men’s event with Hayden Wilde, Henry Graf, Adrien Briffod, Jack Willis, James Edgar, Nathan Grayel, Genis Grau, Antoine Duval, Shachar Sagiv, Léo Fernandez, David Lang and Mitch Kolkman, and it was Kolkman who swam the fastest. After 1:56 minutes out of the water, he was joined only by Duval and Graf, and that trio stayed ahead on the bike as well.

When the leading trio began the final kilometer of running, they had a six-second lead over the chasing group. However, thanks to Kolkman, who immediately set a high pace, that group did not get any closer. Graf and Duval did follow and with two hundred meters to go, it was Graf who placed a devastating sprint, winning the race in 9:36 minutes. Duval finished second only two second behind the winner and Kolkman finished third only four second behind Graf.
