Miami Dolphins wide receiver Tyreek Hill provided fans with a behind-the-scenes glimpse of his team’s 28-27 loss to the Arizona Cardinals in Week 8.
Hill posted a “mic’d up” video Thursday, which included his confrontation with Cardinals safety Budda Baker (3:03 mark). While some of what they said to each other had to be muted, Hill did yell “I’m him.”
They also showed each other plenty of respect on an ensuing play when the wide receiver blocked Baker.
“No. 3 play hard,” Hill told his teammates on the bench.
He also explained to the officials, “I’m not going to fight nobody, man. I’m scared. I’m just talking trash.”
Baker and Hill are two of the best players in the league at their respective positions, so it is only right they played well against each other in Sunday’s game. The former finished with a game-high 12 tackles and one pass defended, while the latter posted six catches for 72 yards.
It seemed like Hill would earn bragging rights when the Dolphins jumped out to a 10-0 lead in the first quarter and 27-18 lead in the fourth quarter, but the Cardinals came charging back for the win.
James Conner’s touchdown and the ensuing extra point cut the deficit to two, and the Cardinals then drove down the field for Chad Ryland’s game-winning field goal as time expired.
Miami is just 2-5 on the season, although the Cardinals game marked the return of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa to the lineup. If he can remain healthy and continue targeting Hill in the aerial attack, they could make a run in the coming weeks.
