Eagles-Giants Final Injury Report: Jalen Hurts ruled out, Saquon Barkley among 10 doubtful players

The Philadelphia Eagles issued their third and final official injury report on Friday in advance of their Week 18 home game against the New York Giants.

The Eagles ruled one player OUT: Jalen Hurts.

Hurts still hasn’t practiced since suffering a concussion in Week 16. He can’t really clear the concussion protocol without practicing at some point, so … that needs to happen sooner than later if he’s going to play in the Wild Card game. I wonder if Hurts might go through some kind of pregame routine on Sunday. We’ll see.

The Eagles ruled 10 players DOUTBFUL: Saquon Barkley, Zack Baun, A.J. Brown, Jalen Carter, Nakobe Dean, Landon Dickerson, Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata, Darius Slay, and DeVonta Smith.

Brown is listed with “knee/coach’s decision” and Smith is listed with “wrist/coach’s decision.”

All other eight players are listed with “coach’s decision.”

The Eagles only get seven inactive spots, so, some of these players will be officially active on Sunday … but don’t expect to see them actually playing against the Giants.

The Eagles ruled two players QUESTIONABLE: Will Shipley and Kenny Pickett.

Shipley was a full participant in practice the last two days. He’ll likely be cleared to play in what will be his first action since suffering a concussion in Week 16.

Pickett did not practice this week but the Eagles could keep him inactive as the emergency third quarterback behind projected starter Tanner McKee and backup Ian Book. If he did have to play, the Eagles could just have him hand the ball off.

The Eagles opened Goedert’s 21-day practice window to return from IR on January 1. Young and Bradberry are eligible to be activated if/when the Eagles desire to activate them, which isn’t looking likely. Graham is seemingly out for the season due to a triceps injury, though he didn’t totally rule out a chance of him playing in the Super Bowl. Uzomah is only eligible to return if the Eagles make it to the Super Bowl. BVS is out for the season due to a knee injury. Clark is out for the season since he was placed on IR back in May.

NEW YORK GIANTS INJURY REPORT (FRIDAY)

The Giants ruled five players out, including starting center John Michael Schmitz, starting right tackle Evan Neal, and starting linebacker Micah McFadden.

Malik Nabers is listed without a game status despite being limited in practice the last two days due to a toe injury. The rookie wide receiver is apparently set to play.
