Iga Swiatek is back in the women’s French Open final.
The No. 1 seed will face No. 12 seed Jasmine Paolini on Saturday.
Swiatek is coming off the heels of a dominant straight-set win against No. 3 Coco Gauff, while her opponent, No. 12 seed Jasmine Paolini, defeated 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva.
For Swiatek, a chance at history is on the line, as a win would make her the fourth and youngest woman in the Open Era (1968) to win four French Open singles titles.
On the other hand, Paolini is making her Grand Slam final debut.

The French Open has become synonymous with Iga Swiatek.
Swiatek, who is 34-2 in her career at the French Open and has won 20 straight matches, is coming off a dominant victory over Coco Gauff.
With a win on Saturday, Swiatek will become the fourth and youngest woman since the open era (1968) to win four French Open singles titles.
The back-to-back champion, who is still just 22 years old, is undoubtedly the master of clay on the WTA tour, controlling everything from court pace to the perfect balance of offense versus defense.
Furthermore, her athleticism and consistency make the notion of defeating her a tall, nearly impossible feat for just about anyone.
Given what is at stake for Swiatek, it would take something miraculous from No. 12 seed Jasmine Paolini to dethrone Swiatek and her quest for history.

Jasmine Paolini’s best Grand Slam result prior to the French Open was a fourth-round appearance at the 2024 Australian Open.
Prior to that, the 28-year-old had never advanced past the second round of a Grand Slam.
After stunning No. 4 seed Elena Rybakina in the quarterfinal, the Italian defeated wunderkind and 17-year-old Mirra Andreeva in the semifinal.
And now, despite all of her success, the toughest task is about to come for the Italian: a date with Iga Swiatek in the French Open final.
Paolini will enter as a massive underdog and will need an incredible performance to dethrone the world No. 1.
