In his Instagram Stories after the bout, Davis wrote that Paul was a “whole bozo for this” and used an emoji to call him a s–thead.

The curiosity about what a Tyson fight in 2024 would look like quickly gave way to frustration and disappointment. The performance from Tyson, in particular, was summed by many fans and analysts as sad to watch.

I love Mike Tyson, but they giving him too much credit. He looked like trash, to train that long and only throw 97 punches the whole fight is crazy. I’m just glad he didn’t get hurt out there.
Tyson admitted after his last professional bout against Kevin McBride in 2005 that he wasn’t really cut out for fighting anymore.
“I don’t have the guts to be in this sport anymore,” Tyson said at the time. “I don’t want to disrespect the sport that I love. My heart is not into this anymore. I’m sorry for the fans who paid for this. I wish I could have done better. I want to move on with my life. It’s time to move on with my life and be a father, take care of my children.”
Even though Paul technically won the fight, it was hard to come out of the event more impressed with his boxing ability. He landed a total of 78 punches in eight rounds.
Davis has made his feelings about Paul boxing very clear for many years. He previously called the YouTuber-turned-fighter a “clown” who “can’t fight” and has dismissed any calls to step into the ring against him.
Paul has an 11-1 record in 12 professional bouts since 2020. Davis, the current WBA lightweight champion, is undefeated in 30 fights as a professional. He most recently defeated Frank Martin via eighth-round knockout on June 15.
