After the second week of NFL action, a handful of players saw their Madden 25 ratings get a boost while other players’ ratings took a hit after mediocre performances.

New Orleans Saints star running back Alvin Kamara was one of the players who made a jump after Week 2 as he went from 86 overall to 87 overall. Kamara had a forgetful season in 2023, but is already off to a tremendous start. He had 83 rushing yards and a touchdown in Week 1 before going off for 115 rushing yards and three touchdowns in Week 2.

Kamara also had 65 receiving yards and a touchdown through the air against the Dallas Cowboys as the Saints’ offense rolled.

While Kamara got a boost thanks to a strong performance, Cincinnati Bengals receiver Ja’Marr Chase saw his rating drop. Chase has had a rough start to the year, recording just 62 receiving yards in Week 1 and following that up with just 35 receiving yards in Week 2.

The good news for Chase—and for those who want to use him in the game—is that he’s still a 92 overall, down just one point from the 93 overall he was before.

Rookie receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. had a bad start to the year, recording just one reception for four yards in Week 1, but he quickly reminded fans why he was the No. 4 overall pick in Week 2. He had 130 receiving yards and a pair of touchdowns as the Arizona Cardinals trounced the Los Angeles Rams 41-10.

For his big performance, Harrison saw his rating jump from 79 overall to 80 overall.

A couple of other risers after Week 2 include Saints safety Tyrann Mathieu (91 overall to 92 overall), Detroit Lions defensive end Aidan Hutchinson (89 overall to 90 overall) and Seattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf (86 overall to 87 overall).

While winning and playing well on the actual field will be the focus for NFL players in Week 3, the added motivation of a Madden rating could also be a factor.
