After hanging up the microphone at the end of the 2022 IM triathlon season to spend more time with his family, the “Voice of Ironman” Mike Reilly has announced that he will return for a special occasion to call the 25th anniversary of Ironman Lake Placid on July 21, 2024.
Mike Reilly, one of the most famous voice in the sport of triathlon had a career that spanned over 33 years, 33 IM World Championship events, and a total of 214 IM events; during that time, he welcomed over a half million athletes as they crossed the finish line. This July, Mike Reilly will take to the microphone once again and add one more event to those totals.
“Since 1999, the Lake Placid community, its residents, and the extraordinary athletes have deeply touched my heart and soul. I am filled with immense joy to return to IM Lake Placid to celebrate its 25th anniversary. It is an honor to once again guide you to the iconic finish line at the Olympic Oval and proudly proclaim each of you an Ironman.”
