I’ve seen enough. Now don’t play him enough tonight to get hurt. #DrakeMaye

Drake Maye:
Minimal reps with 1s in all of camp, first series: gets a bad snap out of shotgun and backed up into own endzone, remains poised in pocket, rushes for a first down on third down (doesn’t slide) & gets it, drives ball downfield, finds Kevin Harris for the first TD.

Drake Maye’s biggest positive tonight has been his ability to overcome the incompetence/inconsistency of his supporting cast.
The Patriots really can’t ask for more than that.

Drake Maye just very clearly Gets It. He manages space so well in the pocket and in his throws downfield and between layers of coverage.
There’s gonna be some knucklehead stuff whenever he starts (and probably for his whole career) but it’s Worth It because he can Do Stuff.
While Maye exited the game with a 7-0 lead at halftime, Washington pulled out a 20-10 victory behind 17 fourth-quarter points.
After Sunday’s preseason finale, Maye finished the preseason with 192 passing yards and a touchdown while playing limited action in three games.
The North Carolina product looked NFL-ready while going up against pro competition for the first time, now the question is whether he’ll be able to help the Patriots start to turn things around in his first season.
Amid another solid showing from Maye, his QB1 competition Jacoby Brissett exited the game early with a shoulder injury. The severity of that injury is still unclear, but if he has to miss any time it will likely mean Maye is the starter out of the gate.
