In their top 32 rankings heading into the 2025 season, PFF snubs Vikings wide receivers Jefferson from the top spot and Jordan Addison from the list completely. PFF Trolls Vikings WRs The current argument for the best wide receiver in football is usually between Jefferson and former LSU teammate Ja’Marr Chase. PFF threw a curveball by declaring Philadelphia Eagles WR AJ Brown their number-one guy. Brown, Jefferson, and Chase made a threesome that PFF declared Tier 1 WRs separated from the rest of the list. Here is what PFF said about Jefferson’s placement in second; Jefferson has been in the conversation for the league’s best receiver since his rookie season. Over the past three years, the Vikings star ranks second among all wideouts in cumulative WAR (1.66) and also holds the second-best per-season WAR average (0.55). Of course, PFF has its own rating system, which will determine its ranking. Brown earned an overall grade of 90.9, while Jefferson scored 87.2, and Chase scored 85.8. It’s not all about the grade, though, as is proven in their own rankings when they round out their top five with Amon-Ra St Brown (88.1) and Puka Nacua (92.8) – highest across the league and only good enough for fifth place in these rankings. For consistency, since he came into the league back in 2020, and how opposing teams treat him, the numbers for Jefferson are out of this world. From 77 games across five seasons, the Vikings wideout has tallied an enormous 7432 receiving yards and 40 touchdown catches. All while seeing more double and triple coverage than anyone else. He is the number one receiver, and while second place would be great for most, it’s a snub for a man of Jefferson’s caliber. The Jordan Addison Snub Even more disappointing for me is the complete snub for Addison, who doesn’t have a place anywhere in the top 32. Operating in the shadow of Jefferson can have its difficulties. While opposing teams will focus on the Vikings’ star man, so do the Vikings. Addison has performed his role admirably. From 32 games across two seasons, Addison has 1786 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns. Minnesota always looks to feed Jefferson first, sometimes too much, as Addison has proved he has the ability with his silky route running and nose for the end zone. His overall grade of 73.2 was only the 39th-best mark across the league last season. Addison’s numbers could improve with a greater volume of targets, but that will be difficult in a stacked Vikings offense that includes TJ Hockenson, Aaron Jones, Jalen Nailor, Tai Felton, and more. Addison also has DUI charges hanging over him, which could hinder making the 2025 season his best yet. He could face a suspension of multiple games if found guilty. The Vikings’ wide receivers group is strong, with Jefferson and Addison as good as any duo in the league, and plenty of depth behind them, too.
